The decoration of our special church with flower arrangements throughout the year is a very long standing priority. A team of enthusiastic and talented ladies take it in turn to provide two pedestal arrangements and one smaller vase in the side chapel and these are refreshed on a weekly basis. In addition, we all meet together to provide special displays for Easter and Christmas. Events such as Harvest Festival and Remembrance Sunday also receive extra attention, as did our recent arrangements to celebrate the Coronation.
For weddings we can provide one window and two pedestal arrangements, funded by the bridal party. This is arranged with our Rector and we are led by any colour choices that are requested.
Each year at Easter we ask for contributions for the Easter Lilies and, in addition to making possible the special Easter display, these donations fund the purchase of flowers for the whole year, so these contributions are vital to us.
At this time there are eleven flower arrangers, but we would welcome anyone who loves flowers and would like to join our flower arranging group. Our leader, Louise Chamberlain, would be very happy to support or give some training if it were needed.
